2010/11 New York Knicks

Mike D'Antoni is looking to be the other Beast in the East (next to the Miami Heat) and with the acquisition of Amare Stoudemire (5 year, $100 million contract) and Raymond Felton, (2 year, $15.8 million), they just may one of the best teams in the East. Also signing on this season are Timofey Mozgov (formerly with Khimki Moscow), Roger Mason Jr. (formerly of the SA Spurs), Patrick Ewing Jr (formerly of the Reno Bighorns) and Shawne Williams (formerly of the Mavericks).

In the draft, the team had two second round picks and selected Shooting Guard Andy Rautins (38th overall selection) and Small Forward Landry Fields (39th overall selection). There is also still the possibility that the Knicks may land much sought after Carmelo Anthony. The Knicks have offered "Melo" a 3-year deal worth $65 million that he has yet to pull the trigger on. The idea that Melo is a needed piece of the puzzle for New York to win is lost on GM Donnie Walsh. "In general, I've heard that New York just doesn't have the pieces," a defiant Walsh said. "We have the pieces, you just don't know it."
